The Wayback
The Wayback is a VR film series that helps people living with dementia reconnect with treasured memories and spark warm, meaningful conversation. Each film is built from real memory sessions in care homes, so every scene is full of the small, specific details, the food on the table, the songs on the radio, that actually trigger recognition. Now part of the Untapped family, The Wayback is expanding its reach with new app features and broader access for care providers across the UK and beyond.
How we work
- Built from real memories. Every scene comes from research and memory sessions with people who lived through it, not a generic recreation.
- Designed to be simple. A cardboard headset and a smartphone are all it takes, so the experience stays accessible wherever it's used.
- Made for connection, not just viewing. Films are built to spark conversation between the person, their carers, and their family, not passive watching.
