With a stellar track record and an impressive client list that includes Samsung, Google, and YouTube, Toaster is known for its innovative campaigns and user-first approach. When Toaster wanted to do something unique and impactful for their Christmas campaign, they reached out to Untapped. Their idea: Toaster Island, a digital space where clients could plant a tree on a 3D-rendered island and receive a digital token in return. For every tree planted, a real one would be planted in Scotland through their partnership with Trees for Life, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability."

What

The brief was ambitious—a visually stunning 3D island built using WebGL, allowing users to select a square, plant a tree, and receive a unique token. The project had to be completed in just three weeks to ensure it could be sent out to clients in time for Christmas. The campaign aimed to replace traditional single-use cards and gifts with a meaningful contribution to the planet. While Toaster already had a programme for offsetting air miles through tree planting, this initiative expanded their efforts in a fun, interactive way. The project included: • A Christmas campaign with a focus on sustainability. • A marketing website optimised for both Apple and Android devices. • Subscription payment functionality for token validation.

How

We started with a fully responsive layout, ensuring the site adapted seamlessly to any device. From there, we refined the content structure, editing content blocks to align with Pledge’s messaging while maintaining clarity and simplicity. To refine mobile usability, we developed dedicated areas for device-specific content, ensuring the user experience remained consistent across all platforms.
One of the critical elements was crafting a strong call-to-action (CTA) on the homepage. Partnering with Zapier, we integrated marketing forms that encouraged users to get in touch quickly and efficiently. This intuitive approach made inquiries effortless and significantly improved lead generation. The final website is clean, effective, and aligns with Pledge’s mission. It may not rely on cutting-edge technology, but it excels in delivering a clear, impactful message that encourages action—a simple solution for a business focused on solving a complex global problem.
