Who

The Cotswold Veg Box Company was set up by two local lads, Pete Robinson and Alex Thompson in 2020. The coronavirus pandemic changed the way people shopped for groceries, with more people turning to home delivery.

Pete and Alex realised this, and so set up The Cotswold Veg Box Company. In a nutshell, the service allows people to order fresh fruit and veg at the click of a button and have it delivered to their doorstep, contact-free. Most importantly, you’re getting top quality fruit and veg from the best British farms.

What

The Cotswold Veg Box has a unique product, and the branding and website had to reflect this, too. The main focus was the eCommerce store, which would act as a central sales platform and allow customers to buy fresh produce and sign up to a weekly or fortnightly subscription model.

The project included:

Up to date digital strategy
Branding pack and full site design and build
Single and subscription payment options
Ongoing development and marketing support

How

All that delicious fruit and veg had to be eaten before it went to waste. And so we designed and developed a fully-fledged online store in two weeks — completely on brand, and complete with a subscription model. Alongside this, we put together a marketing strategy that would help the business grow in the short, medium and long term. Here’s a breakdown of everything we did:

Branding

Everything about The Cotswold Veg Box Company screams quality and sophistication. From the produce and the packaging to the area they work in. It was important the website and branding gave off a classy vibe, and instilled trust and confidence in their customers. We already knew this, and Alex and Pete also made it clear in their brief. To hit the brief, we used modern, elegant strong colours fonts.

Technology

The Cotswold Veg Box is purely an online business. So, the website would be the only place people could buy their fresh greens. As well as being easy to use, it had to be responsive to all devices, be able to cope with large volumes of orders and provide a satisfying customer journey from start to finish.

The finished product was simple, intuitive and easy to use. It was also compatible with mobile and tablet. And most importantly, it was functional. From the website, customers could order one-off veggie boxes, choose add-on items like eggs and milk, and subscribe to weekly or fortnightly deliveries.

Business development and operational support

Our experience in business development was perfect for The Cotswold Veg Box company — which was a little lost when it came to scaling its business and getting to grips with all the tech. But that’s okay, they had our help.

From optimising customer service to refining delivery routes, we were there to ensure the business ran as effectively and efficiently as possible. This also meant teaching them a thing or two about the tech, as one day, they’d like to adapt the tools themselves. We taught them everything they needed to know and continue to do so to this day.

Here’s what they had to say

Working with Untapped has been a pleasure. Within two weeks we had a fully functioning e-commerce website and were taking our first veg box orders. They've helped us develop our business, providing continual site upgrades, help and direction to create and establish our business plan and providing weekly marketing graphics to aid sales and boost brand presence. We look forward to using their skills and knowledge as our business grows and develops.
Having worked with Will and the team at Untappd since the inception of my business in April 2020, I have come to rely on the expertise and support that they have provided throughout my journey into e-commerce entrepreneurship. Without their significant expertise it would have been impossible to get my business off the ground so quickly and professionally. I am indebted to Untapped for their continuing support as my business not only expands but thrives within a competitive industry.
